South Texas Human Rights Center

The South Texas Human Rights Center is a community based organization dedicated to the promotion, protection, defense and exercise of human rights and dignity in South Texas. Their mission is to end death and suffering on the Texas/Mexico border through community initiatives.

In recent years, we have witnessed a sharp increase in the number of deaths occurring in the Rio Grande Sector in South Texas, making it a critical area of focus in the larger crisis on the border. With their dedicated work to bring awareness and resolutions to the deaths happening in South Texas, the South Texas Human Rights Center is one of Colibrí’s closest partners. We collaborate closely with the incredible staff in South Texas through our Missing Migrant Project.
